Tragic Truck Incident in UP's Banda Claims Six Lives, Injures Four

A horrific accident in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, left six people dead and four seriously injured after a sand-laden truck ran over pedestrians on a busy road near Bisanda town. The incident has generated considerable distress in the community.
The tragic occurrences began when the truck hit and killed Rameshwar, a 61-year-old retired teacher from Ghuri village. This spurred a series of collisions as locals tried to apprehend the speeding vehicle. The driver, in an attempt to escape, sped towards Bisanda town, ultimately hitting an e-rickshaw near Nathoo Talab on the Oran road.
Immediate fatalities included e-rickshaw passengers Mamta, Rakesh, Shahbaz, and Naveen, all from Kurrahi village. Five others were rushed to the hospital, where Sohan Lal, aged 50, later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have sent the deceased for post-mortem and are actively searching for the driver, who fled post-accident.
The accident has highlighted the urgent need for improved road safety measures. As investigations continue, the community mourns the loss of life, hoping for swift justice. Among the injured is a three-month-old infant who remains under medical care.
