A man in Sonbhadra has been detained for the alleged murder of his wife during a domestic row. The police reported that Mahendra Gupta is accused of strangling his wife, Asha Devi, with a towel while under the influence of alcohol.

Circle Officer Harsh Pandey indicated that the incident occurred on Wednesday night in the Shaktinagar area. The couple, who had been married for over two decades, were reportedly involved in a family dispute at the time of the crime. Authorities responded to the scene upon notification, secured the deceased's body, and dispatched it for post-mortem examination.
