Champai Soren, a leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party, has voiced strong opposition to the Jharkhand government's decision to rename Phulo Jhano Medical College. Soren labeled the move as an attempt to erase the legacy of tribal heroes and warned of community action if the decision is not reversed.
During a recent visit to the Dumka-based hospital, Soren argued that such institutions are traditionally named to honor significant leaders. He criticized the current administration for failing to honor this tradition. Soren emphasized the importance of preserving the tribal heritage and suggested that any erasing of names without notice exposes a hidden agenda.
In response to the alleged conspiracy, Soren stated that the tribal community might take corrective action themselves if necessary. He highlighted a recent declaration by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, ensuring tribal customs are not affected by the Uniform Civil Code, as a positive step towards safeguarding their unique way of life.
