A horrific accident near the renowned Kaleshwar Mahadev temple resulted in the tragic death of four family members after a maize-laden truck toppled onto them. The incident took place Friday morning in the Lal Dhang area of Yamunanagar district, along the Jagadhri-Paonta National Highway.
The victims were on a pilgrimage to Shri Renukaji Temple in Himachal Pradesh. Rajendra Dhiman, accompanied by his wife Usha and daughters Simran and Minal, was killed along with Phool Singh, who was riding on a separate motorcycle. Eyewitnesses saw the truck overturn as it negotiated a sharp bend.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived to aid in the rescue. The police, headed by Station House Officer Rohtash Singh, managed to clear maize sacks to reach victims. The truck driver is in custody as police probe if negligence or mechanical failure caused the crash. Usha remains in critical condition at the hospital.
