Court Extends Custody Amid NEET Paper Leak Investigation

A Delhi court has extended CBI custody for Manisha Sanjay Hawaldar by two days in the NEET-UG paper leak case. Another accused, Manisha Mandhare, was remanded to judicial custody. The court is addressing further investigations into the alleged paper distribution conspiracy involving multiple individuals.

A New Delhi court has extended the Central Bureau of Investigation custody of Manisha Sanjay Hawaldar in connection with the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, prolonging her detention by two additional days. Meanwhile, the same court has placed Manisha Mandhare in judicial custody.

During the proceedings, Special Judge Ajay Gupta approved the investigative agency's request to question both individuals further, following submissions that Hawaldar participated in unauthorized NEET-UG paper distribution. Authorities seek to identify other parties potentially involved in the conspiracy.

Opposing the extension of her custody, Hawaldar's legal representative emphasized her cooperation with the ongoing investigation since her May arrest, pleading for judicial instead of police custody. Nevertheless, the court sided with the CBI. The court also remanded Mandhare, claiming her need to confront other suspects and students. The broader inquiry has led to 13 arrests, including alleged conspirators linked to the case.
