Telangana's Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, expressed disappointment over Maharashtra leader Devendra Fadnavis's lack of response to a proposed meeting about the planned barrage on the Godavari River at Tummidihatti. Reddy highlighted that despite suggestions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve inter-state water disputes amicably, communication from Maharashtra has stalled.
The meeting is aimed at discussing concerns that parts of Maharashtra may face submersion due to the proposed barrage by Telangana. Meanwhile, Reddy addressed additional political tensions, notably responding to criticism from Kishan Reddy about alleged neglect in paddy procurement, asserting the Telangana government's commitment to supporting farmers through initiatives like the Rythu Power Distribution Company and vowing continued free power access for agriculture.
Reddy also countered accusations from the BRS party regarding the installation of meters on agricultural pumps, reaffirming Congress's stance not to contest elections if such measures were enacted.
