A stray dog caused a stir in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, after it attacked nearly 60 individuals, including women and children. Among the injured was a two-year-old girl, who suffered severe facial injuries.

Those harmed by the dog were swiftly taken to nearby hospitals and clinics on Saturday, as the municipal council launched an urgent capture effort.

Eyewitnesses reported a black stray dog targeting unsuspecting pedestrians across several neighborhoods. In Laxmibai Colony, residents intervened to rescue the young girl from the vicious attack.

By the evening, approximately 60 individuals with dog bite injuries had been treated and vaccinated against rabies.

Chief Municipal Officer Ishank Dhakad confirmed the capture of the dog and highlighted increased local surveillance to protect public safety moving forward.

This incident follows the Supreme Court's decision to permit euthanasia for rabid or dangerously aggressive stray dogs to ensure human safety.

Locals have raised concerns over the growing problem of stray dogs in Shivpuri, demanding long-term remedies from authorities. The administration advises citizens to stay vigilant and immediately report aggressive animal behavior.
