A mortar shell believed to be decades old was discovered in the well of a temple in Samba district, along the border in Jammu and Kashmir. This relic from the past prompted swift action from authorities over the weekend.
The shell was located in Gadwal village within the Ramgarh border area. Upon being alerted by locals on Saturday, police and a bomb disposal squad swiftly arrived at the scene to secure and safely defuse the object. Initial evaluations indicate that the shell had been hidden within the well for approximately 30 to 35 years. Thankfully, the defusing operation concluded without any damage or injuries reported.
