Vietnam Challenges U.S. Labor Trade Conclusions
Vietnam disputes the U.S. Trade Representative's findings about its inability to prevent trade in goods produced with forced labor, asserting that its policies align with International Labour Organization standards.
Vietnam's foreign ministry voiced its concerns Thursday over the U.S. Trade Representative's recent assessment, which claimed the country had not effectively curbed the trade of goods produced with forced labor.
The ministry argued that the conclusions do not accurately reflect Vietnam's efforts to mitigate such practices. Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized Vietnam's strict policy against any form of forced labor and highlighted its adherence to International Labour Organization regulations during a press conference in Hanoi.
This statement underscores ongoing tensions and discussions between the two nations on labor practices and trade relations.
