UN Watchdog Pressures Iran on Enriched Uranium Transparency
The U.N. nuclear watchdog has renewed its call for Iran to disclose information on its enriched uranium following the bombing of atomic sites last year. The International Atomic Energy Agency urges Iran to adhere to the Non-Proliferation Treaty Safeguards Agreement and allow full resumption of inspections.
The U.N. nuclear watchdog has issued a renewed call for action, urging Iran to promptly reveal the status of its enriched uranium. This comes in the wake of the bombing of its atomic facilities a year ago, as highlighted in a confidential report obtained by Reuters.
The report underscores the insistence of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General that Iran must comply effectively with the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Safeguards Agreement. The implementation of this agreement, according to the watchdog, should be a continuous process, unsuspended by Iran under any circumstances.
As tensions persist, the IAEA is calling for the full resumption of inspections to ensure transparency and adherence to international nuclear agreements, as part of efforts to maintain global nuclear safety and security.
