EU Strikes Russia with New Sanctions Amid Navalny Murder Tensions

The European Union has intensified its sanction measures against Russia, focusing on figures accused of supporting Moscow's military actions in Ukraine and those associated with political dissident Alexei Navalny's murder. The updated list now includes 34 individuals and 47 entities.
Key individuals affected by these sanctions include Tahir Garayev, who facilitated the shipping of Russian crude oil, and Konstantin Rogach, noted for providing insurance coverage and administration for vessels exporting Russian oil.
Additionally, the EU has sanctioned judges, prosecutors, and a bishop linked to disinformation campaigns. EU foreign ministers are also debating further sanctions, which have reportedly cost the Russian economy between €1 trillion and €1.3 trillion to date.
