Bharat Buildcon 2026, a major exhibition for the building materials and construction industry, opened at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi on Thursday, drawing strong participation from industry leaders, policymakers and international buyers. The event was inaugurated by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, and Member of Parliament Parshottam Rupala.
More than 25,000 visitors attended the exhibition on its opening day. Participants include architects, builders, developers, contractors, manufacturers, traders and policymakers from India and several other countries. Government Highlights Trade and Manufacturing Opportunities
Addressing the gathering, Jitin Prasada emphasised the importance of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) in expanding economic opportunities for Indian businesses and strengthening the country's position in global markets. He referred to the recently concluded India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), noting that the agreement is expected to improve market access for Indian products and create new opportunities for manufacturers and exporters.
Prasada also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of making India a trusted global manufacturing and sourcing hub through a strong focus on quality and competitiveness.
According to the Minister, India possesses the resources, talent and industrial capabilities needed to strengthen its global presence across several sectors, including construction and building materials. He added that exhibitions such as Bharat Buildcon play an important role in bringing together innovators, manufacturers, buyers and policymakers to encourage collaboration and business growth.
Industry Showcase Attracts Participants from 90 Countries
Bharat Buildcon 2026 features participation from more than 90 countries and over 100 cities across India, reflecting the growing international interest in India's construction and infrastructure sectors. The exhibition showcases products, technologies and innovations across 24 industry segments. These include ceramics and stone, cement and steel, hardware, plywood and laminates, furniture, sanitaryware, electrical products, paints, construction technologies and several allied sectors.
Organisers expect the event to generate significant business interactions while providing companies with a platform to present new products and technological advancements. The exhibition will continue over the coming days, offering opportunities for industry engagement, knowledge exchange and discussions on emerging trends shaping the future of the construction and building materials sector.
