A Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight SQ423, with 263 passengers and 18 crew members on board, from Mumbai to Singapore has alarmed a bomb threat. Two fighter jets, F-16C/Ds, intercepted the flight and escorted it to Changi Airport.

SIA spokesperson said they are assisting the authorities with the investigations. He added that the airlines flight operations have not been affected.

Reports say the SQ423, a Boeing 777-300ER had departed from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 11.36pm on Monday. This wasn't the first boob threat for the airline. Last April, a 41-year-old man made a false bomb threat on a Scoot flight from Singapore to Hat Yai, Thailand. The man joked that there was a bomb in the bag when a stewardess had asked him if it contained any prohibited items such as lithium batteries.
