In a tragic incident in Rashidpur village, Bhanu Pratap and his wife Rama Devi were discovered hanging from a tree, with authorities suspecting suicide linked to the distress of childlessness. Locals spotted the bodies early Wednesday morning and notified the police.
The couple, married for nearly 14 years, had sought medical intervention for their inability to have children, according to their family. This situation led to significant mental stress. Both Agra and Aligarh were mentioned as places they visited for treatment options.
The investigation team, led by Senior Superintendent Ilamaran, visited the site and approved a comprehensive probe. While evidence collection was underway, ASP Shwetabh Pandey noted that initial findings highlighted the couple's otherwise sound relationship, despite their shared distress. The exact circumstances remain unclear pending the post-mortem results.
Villagers report that Rama Devi was last seen heading to the fields Tuesday evening, raising suspicions about the timeline of events. Several locals speculate Bhanu Pratap may have followed suit after finding his wife, although the police have yet to confirm this sequence.
