Corruption fueled Terrorism in Nigeria, Abraham ’s Children Foundation

Abraham ’s Children Foundation, an NGO fighting against corruption in Nigeria, has blamed the widespread corruption in the African country as the root cause of terrorism, kidnapping, banditry and all current violent crimes. The organization has vociferously demanded invocation of the same laws on religious figure cum academician Venerable Dr Ogbonnia Ibe-Enwo for his alleged misconducts.

“It will amount to abuse of the State Social Order of Equality and Justice if the above provision is not invoked in the prosecution of serious misconducts by venerable Dr Ogbonnia Ibe-Enwo as it currently been implemented in the prosecution of a Director of Federal Ministry of Education Victor Igboanugo by Independent Corrupt Practice and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Engr. Babachir David Lawal by Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and Retired Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Walter .N. Onnoghen by Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT),” said spokesperson of the NGO in a statement. “If every Nigerian becomes corrupt there will be no nation called Nigeria,” the statement added. It further stated that corruption – the abuse of entrusted power for private gain – is wrong. “It destroys the basic rights of hundreds of millions of people across the world, it has devastating consequences on the services provided by public institutions and it undermines the prospect for a better life for future generations,” added the statement.

Abraham’s Children Foundation is an NGO registered in Nigeria in 2011 with head office in Afikpo, Ebonyi State Nigeria. With respect to the 1999 Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria provision in Section 17 (1 and 2), all Federal Public Officers and Citizens of Nigeria are equal before the law.
