Poacher held with carcasses of migratory birds

Forest officials Thursday arrested a poacher from Chilika lake area and recovered two carcasses of migratory birds from him. The accused, identified as Naba Bhol (40), was caught by the wildlife staff at Abhimanapur under Tangi wildlife range while he was carrying the dead birds, said Tangi Wildlife Range Officer, Subash Chandra Behera. With this, the wildlife personnel in Tangi wildlife range have registered 11 cases of poaching and arrested 14 bird poachers in last three months, an official said. Nineteen anti-poaching camps have been set up along the vast Chilika lake, he said.
