5 district police chiefs among 44 officers transferred in JK
In a major reshuffle ahead of the parliamentary election, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued transfer and posting order for 44 senior superintendents of police (SSPs) and superintendents of police (SPs), including five district police chief. According to the order issued by the Home Department on Wednesday night, Srinagar SSP Imtiyaz Ismail Parray has been transferred and posted as an officer on special duty with Vijay Kumar, Advisor to Governor S P Malik.
SSP Mohd Haseeb Mughal has been made the new Srinagar police chief. Rahul Malik, who was SSP (Security) J&K, has been posted as new SSP of Bandipora district in place of Sheikh Zulfikar Azad.
Gurinderpal Singh, who was SP (West) Srinagar, has been posted as new district police chief of Kulgam in place of Harmeet Singh Mehta. Shakti Kumar Pathak, SSP Traffic (NHW) is transferred and posted as SSP, Kishtwar, in place Rajinder Kumar Gupta, order said.
Abdul Qayoom, AIG (CIV), PHQ is transferred and posted as SSP, Baramulla vice Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, it said. Shailendra Kumar Mishra, awaiting orders of posting in Police headquarters, is posted as Commandant IR 7th Battalion (Ambgrota) against an available vacancy.
Sandeep Gupta, Additional SP, Domana is transferred and posted as Additional SP, Anantnag. SSP Maqsood-ul-Zaman is posted as Commandant, IR-8th Battalion (Manasbal) against an available vacancy.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, Commandant, IR-19th Battalion (Kathua) is transferred and posted as SP, Rural, Jammu. Jatinder Singh Johar, Commandant, JKAP-8th Battalion is transferred and posted as SSP, Traffic, (NHW).
Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Kishtwar is transferred and posted as SSP, Security, Civil Secretariat. He will take over the charge of the post after the retirement of incumbent Mohd Yousuf Shah on February 28. Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, SSP, Baramulla is transferred and posted as SSP (Security), Kashmir against an available vacancy.
Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, SP, Bandipora is transferred and posted as SSP, Security, J&K vice Rahul Malik.
