Fatal Collapse Near Saket Metro Station Claims One Life, Injures Eight

A tragic incident unfolded near the Saket Metro station in South Delhi, where a three-storey commercial building collapsed, leading to the death of a 26-year-old man on Saturday evening. Eight individuals were rescued from the disaster site, according to an official from the Delhi Fire Services.
The building, located on Western Marg in the Saidulajab area, housed a coaching institute along with several cafes and offices. At the time of the collapse, construction activities were reported on the upper floor. The massive debris landed on a nearby tin shed canteen, frequented by students preparing for medical entrance exams.
The deceased has been identified as Ravi, while the injured include individuals from various regions, ranging from Delhi to Gurugram and Bihar. A collaborative rescue operation was launched by the Delhi Fire Services, National Disaster Response Force, Delhi Disaster Management Authority, and local volunteers. Overnight efforts involved heavy machinery and specialized equipment to locate and rescue trapped individuals.
All injured persons were promptly admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for medical care. The multi-agency response underscores the coordinated efforts to handle such emergencies with the urgency they demand.
