Cheema Initiates Major Infrastructure Projects in Punjab's Lehragaga Area

Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema commenced significant road infrastructure and development projects in Lehragaga, Punjab, valued over Rs 18.76 crore. The initiatives are set to improve rural connectivity and infrastructure, enhancing safety and providing all-weather access to local villages.

Harpal Singh Cheema, Punjab's Finance Minister, launched infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 18.76 crore in the Lehragaga region on Sunday. These initiatives aim to remove safety hazards and enhance rural infrastructure, offering all-weather connectivity for thousands of villagers, as reported by an official release.

Addressing residents in Daska village, he introduced a 10.5-km road connecting Bachhuana to Bareta via Daska and Bahadurpur, which was widened to 18 ft. This development, costing Rs 7.15 crore, aims to resolve traffic congestion and improve safety.

Further improvements included a new 4-km metalled road from Daska to Khatri Wala at Rs 1.27 crore, transforming a dirt track into a reliable all-season route. Additionally, a 1-km link road to Dera Baba Dhaula Pir was completed for Rs 34.50 lakh, easing travel for local residents and devotees.

In Baghrol and nearby areas, Cheema initiated development projects worth nearly Rs 10 crore, underpinning the state's efforts to modernize rural infrastructure comprehensively.
