Man booked for carrying Rs 30 lakh as unaccounted cash

The Police arrested one person from the city after recovering from him Rs 30 lakh in unaccounted cash, a senior officer said Thursday. The person was intercepted at Mullick Street in Burrabazar police station limits late Wednesday night when he was found carrying a large bag.

When searched, the police found the cash inside it and when he failed to explain satisfactorily why he was carrying such a large amount in cash, he was arrested. "A case has been initiated into the matter. Officers are trying to collect further details into it," the officer stated.
