TN: 43 students of govt school hospitalised after taking noon meal

Forty-three students of a government school here had to be hospitalised with symptoms of food poisoning after taking noon meal Thursday, police said. However, the condition of all the children is stable. A total of 54 students studying from class I to class III at the Sanarpalayam government elementary school took rice and eggs, and left for their respective classes, the police said. Shortly afterwards, 43 of them began vomitting in the classrooms and were taken to hospital, they said. Consumption of rotten eggs and poor quality rice were the cause of the illness, the police said quoting doctors. Police have registered a case and begun investigations.
