Gujarat: Three held with charas weighing more than 10 kgs

Three persons have been arrested from Ahmedabad for allegedly possessing charas weighing more than 10 kgs, a crime branch official said Saturday. The price of the seized quantity is estimated to be over Rs 1.25 crore in the international markets. The arrested trio included two residents of Bandipore district in Jamu and Kashmir, identified as Jameel Ahmad Bhat and Sabbir Ahmad Dar.

Crime branch officials arrested Bhat, Dhar and a local resident Bhupendra Shah Friday night after raiding a place near Sardar Baug locality, and seized 10.15 kg charas. The official said Bhat and Dhar had brought the contraband to deliver it to Shah. The three accused have been booked under various provisions of the Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
