TRS names Naveen Rao as nominee for Council bypoll

The ruling TRS in Telangana Monday named K Naveen Rao as its candidate for the June 7 byelection to fill a vacancy in the state Legislative Council. TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao decided on the candidature, party sources said.

The by-poll has been necessitated due to the resignation of Mynampally Hanmanth Rao in December last after his election to the assembly. The notification for the bypoll was issued on May 21 and May 28 is the last date for filing nominations. The counting of votes would be taken up at 5 PM on June 7.
