Water Ministry is a welcome step: Rajesh Agarwal, MD, Insecticides India

The Managing Director of Insecticides India Ltd Rajesh Aggarwal has supported the vision of the government for creating a separate water ministry.

"Establishing a ministry focused on water-related matters is a welcome move - safe and adequate water is key to the irrigation needs of a farmer and having a ministry to this end with help in promoting its uptake. With Monsoon becoming more and more unpredictable, forcing farmers to poverty and even death is a sad development. We hope this initiative to provide water will ensure farmers in parched areas will get water for their farms. The idea to introduce zero budget farming is also a welcome move and may eventually end the vicious cycle of debt for farmers once and for all. We hope that the budget this year will address the economic concerns of the country and look forward to a fruitful year," said Rajesh Aggarwal, Managing Director, Insecticides (India) Limited.
