In her budget speech, the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed a unique program of 'Gandhipedia' to be developed by the National Council of Science Museums to sensitize youths and society about positive Gandhian values.

Considering the aspirations of the youth in the country and recognizing the power of the idea of start-ups government proposed an objective television program to provide guidance to make it happen. Keeping in view the potential of the sport in India the budget makes provision for national sports education for the development of future sportsperson and popularize sports at all level under the Khelo India scheme. Besides, Grameen Bharat, Shahree Bharat these are the two programs through which BJP government promised to reach out people through various schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen (PMAY-G), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U). In this budget, the government not only focusses on basic needs but also try to incorporate new things for the new generation.

Announcing the new schemes and programs, the government also focussed on sanitation and cleaning. Under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan more than 5.6 lakh villages have become open defecation free by constructing 9.6 crore toilets since October 2, 2014. The government has fixed a goal of achieving Gandhi's resolve of Swachh Bharat to make India open defecation free by October 2, 2019. Marking this achievement government is planning to inaugurate the Rashtriya Swachhta Kendra at Gandhi Darshan Samiti, Rajghat. The government also plans to expand the Swachh Bharat mission to undertake sustainable solid waste management in every village.
