Northern Army commander reviews operational preparedness of troops along LoC in JK

Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh Thursday reviewed the operational preparedness of troops along the LoC in Poonch and Krishnaghati sectors and called for vigilance to counter the nefarious designs of the enemy and anti-national elements. Lt Singh, accompanied by White Knight Corps Commander Lt Gen Paramjit Singh, visited forward bases and posts in Poonch and Krishnaghati sector to review the operational preparedness and the prevalent security situation, an Army official said.
He exhorted all ranks on the need to remain vigilant to counter the nefarious designs of the enemy and appreciated the preparedness and the morale of all soldiers, he added. During his visit to the sectors, the Army commander was briefed about the current operational situation, prevailing security scenario and the preparedness of the formations, the official said.
Lt Gen Ranbir Singh was also briefed on the use of high-end equipment and innovations by the units on the ground to monitor intrusions and infiltration bids along the Line of Control. He was also given an update on the measures instituted for a peaceful Amarnath yatra, the officer added.
