MCOCA accused held from Thane after 3 years on the run

A man wanted in two cases underthe stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act(MCOCA) was arrested by Thane police on July 26, a seniorofficial said

Thane Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) DeepakDeoraj said Abbas Amjad Irani alias Sayyed (21) had severalcases of chain-snatching and theft against his name and was onthe run since 2016

"Two cases were registered against him under MCOCA inKolsewadi police station in Kalyan. He had sneaked into Thaneand had got married here last year. We arrested him on July26," Deoraj said.
