- India
Two contract labourers were killed and another critically injured when a railway parcel godown collapsed in the early hours of Thursday here following incessant rains, police said. They said the walls of zinc sheet-roofed godown were wet due to the rains over the last few days, and when it collapsed the workers were sleeping inside it.
The collapse occurred around 3.30 am, catching the labourers and their colleagues in sleep, they said, adding that the railway police and fire department personnel managed to pull the workers out. However, two of them -- Pavishamani and Ibrahim -- were declared brought dead while another -- Raju -- was receiving treatment at a hospital, they said. Further investigation is underway, they said.
