Cop 'commits suicide' by hanging in staff quarters in Kerala

A 53-year-old police official allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the residential quarters in Chengamanad near Aluva, police said on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Poulose John, Additional Sub Inspector of Chengamanad station, they said.

He was allegedly found hanging from the ceiling fan of the quarters Thursday morning. An investigation has been launched into the death of the officer, they added.

His colleagues said John was a very good officer..
