Goa: Lifeguard agency's contract extended till June, 2022

The Goa government on Fridayextended the services of Drishti Marine, which deployslifeguards at the state's beaches, till June 30, 2022, asenior state Tourism department official said on Friday

The company has been deploying its lifeguards at Goa'sbeaches since 2008, its executive director Ravi Shankar said,adding that its services had seen a "99 per cent" reduction indrowning incidents along the 105-kilometre coastline

"We have saved 5,000 lives so far," he added.
