Congress and NC form alliance in J&K to ward off 'threat'

Congress has finalised an alliance with National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir: Ghulam Nabi Azad. Azad says alliance finalised in the national interest, to strengthen secular forces in J&K as the state faces threat from Pakistan.

NC has demanded simultaneous polls in J&K and has raked up controversy as EC decided to go on with the Lok Sabha polls first. National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah had said that the Modi government had "consciously disenfranchised" the people in Jammu and Kashmir by not holding the Assembly election on time.
