Two person died as motorcycle looses control

Two persons on a motorcycle died when a goods vehicle lost control and fell on them near Turf View on AJC Bose ramp of the Vidyasagar Setu Thursday morning, police said, Subhadeep Chakraborty (22) and pillion rider Pratim Kundu (21) were severely injured when the sugar loaded goods vehicle side turned on their motorcycle at around 4.20 am, a Kolkata Police officer said.

The two were without helmets when the mishap happened, he said adding that they were declared "brought dead" when rushed to the SSKM hospital.

The driver of the goods vehicle escaped following the accident and a case has been registered at the Hastings Police Station, he said.
