Man dies after revolver discharged accidentally

A 39-year-old man died after a country-made revolver discharged accidentally in Maharashtra's Palghar district, police said Monday.

A relative of Hari Bacchu Gadag was displaying the gun to him when it went off, killing him instantly, Boisar police station Inspector Jagtap said.

"The incident happened on November 9 when the accused Lahanya Bhoir was letting Gadag have a look at the gun.

We have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under IPC and invoked sections of the Arms Act," Jagtap said.

Gadag was in his in-laws' house in Shigaon Sumdipada in Palghar's Boisar area when the incident happened, the official said.
