The Secretary-General of the United Nations' World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili and the Ivorian Minister of Tourism and Recreation Siandou Fofana signed in Madrid an agreement establishing the UNWTO on Tourism Investment in Africa scheduled for Abidjan on February 20, 21 and 22, 2020.

This signing of the agreement took place during the 11th edition of the tourism forum on investments and business opportunities in Africa that took place in the Spanish capital.

"For the joint Omt / Côte d'Ivoire initiative at the Abidjan Forum for the benefit of Africa, the Ivorian delegation to the international tourism fair in Madrid (Fitur) led by Isabelle Anoh, Director of communication and promotion of activities at the Ministry of Tourism and Leisure, has obtained the approval of countries such as Uganda, Mali, Senegal, Tanzania, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, l 'Angola, The Gambia, Morocco and Algeria' also informs the text," the report noted.

According to Minister Fofana, the enthusiasm observed at the level of investors and the United Nations' World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for holding the Abidjan forum is 'clear and blunt'. Côte d'Ivoire was designated during the 23rd UNWTO General Assembly in Saint Petersburg (Russia) to host the first Forum from February 20 to 22 'Investing in tourism in Africa' conference, which will mobilize over 3000 participants.
