India to soon make investment in Chabahar: Iran official
The port is located at a strategic location for India in Sistan-Baluchistan Province.

In a meeting of deputy ministers of the Road and Urban Development Ministry in Chabahar, it was announced that the investment for the Chabahar project will be done by Indian Company, IPGL.
It is to be noted that the capacity of harbours in Chabahar port is not enough to receive high volumes of cargo but once the next phases get completed, the capacity of Shahid Beheshti port will be increased.
The official said that there is a need to ease transportation and traffic of trucks for Chabahar-Zahedan railway project which is crucial for the implementation of the port.
The port is located at a strategic location for India in Sistan-Baluchistan Province. It can be accessed from the western coast of India lying outside the Persian Gulf.
India seeks to operate two berths in the port with a capital investment of USD 85 million on a lease of 10 years.
