Israel authorises 9 West Bank settler outposts, Ben-Gvir says

Israel's decision-making security cabinet approved on Sunday giving formal recognition to nine Jewish settler outposts erected in the occupied West Bank, ultranationalist minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said.

The move could prompt friction with the United States, which has long opposed creating new settlements on land the Palestinians seek for a state. (Writing by Dan Williams)
