Lithuania parliament rejects snap election plan

Lithuania's parliament rejected on Tuesday a proposal by the ruling Homeland Union party for a snap election amidst an expenses scandal.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte has said her government would tender its resignation unless parliament agreed to hold a general election.
