The former President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma has joined Twitter to address a plenty of accusations made against him.
"It's me, Jacob Zuma," the 76-year old former South African politician says in an introductory video posted on Twitter.
He says over Twitter "you will used to me" and expressed his interest to join the national conversation. He insisted that he is going to rectify those things that are said about him. He also warned saying that some people have used fake social media accounts in his name.
Last year, Sunday Times published an article claiming that Jacob Zuma had a luxurious mansion in Dubai. The picture of the luxurious mansion was also published claiming that Gupta brothers bought for South Africa's former President. His close neighbour was reportedly none other than former Zimbabwe's Prime Minister and President, Robert Mugabe.
Zuma posted a picture of Sunday Times newspaper on Sunday, December 16, which shows him and Robert Mugabe juxtaposed on the photo of the Dubai palace with the (news) headline "Zuma's Dubai Palace and guess who lives next door?"
Apart from responding to these allegations on Twitter, he has challenged the publication to provide him with the title deed and address of the house he owned in Dubai so that he could sell it and clear his several legal fees.
The @SundayTimesZA is correct that I have sold one of my properties. Seeing as I have a lot of legal fees to pay, I would appreciate if they could provide me with the title deed & address of the house I own in Dubai so that I can sell it because I don't know anything about it pic.twitter.com/KpG5TuGYVS
