British PM Rishi Sunak has confirmed the first asylum seeker flight to Rwanda will take off after the July 4 election, with preparations already underway. Speaking to LBC Radio, Sunak assured that the plan remains on schedule despite the upcoming vote.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on Thursday that the first flight carrying asylum seekers to Rwanda under his flagship policy is set to take off after the July 4 general election.

Speaking to LBC Radio a day after he set the date for the vote, he stressed that the flight would still take off in July and that the preparation work had already begun.
