TDP Takes the Lead in Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha Elections

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leads in 15 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh, with NDA partners BJP and Janasena ahead in three and two seats respectively. The ruling YSR Congress is leading in five seats, according to early trends released by the Election Commission.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is showing strong performance, leading in 15 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh. According to early trends from the Election Commission, NDA partners BJP and Janasena are ahead in three and two segments respectively.

The ruling YSR Congress is not far behind, leading in five Lok Sabha seats. The current chief minister's sister, YS Sharmila, is trailing in the Kadapa seat, where the sitting YSRCP MP Avinash Reddy is leading by over 16,000 votes.

On another front, AP BJP chief D Purandeswari is leading by more than 47,000 votes in the Rajamahendravaram constituency, outpacing YSRCP's D Srinivas. Meanwhile, Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani of TDP has gained a significant lead of over 40,000 votes in the Guntur segment.

The TDP candidate Pemmasani recently garnered attention for declaring his family's assets worth over Rs 5000 crore.

As part of an electoral arrangement among NDA partners, TDP was allocated 144 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies. BJP will contest six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats, while Janasena is set to contest two Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly seats. Andhra Pradesh went to the polls on May 13 for a total of 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly seats.
