In the latest updates from the Election Commission, Congress candidate S Supongmeren Jamir has surged ahead in the lone Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland. Jamir has secured an impressive 3,79,093 votes, outpacing his nearest rival, Chumben Murry of the NDPP, who garnered 3,30,850 votes.

Independent candidate Hayithung Tungoe Lotha received 5,695 votes. A total of 57.72 percent of 13.25 lakh eligible voters exercised their franchise on April 19.

The vote counting process is being conducted across 17 centers, marking a crucial moment in the political landscape of Nagaland.
