As the vote count unfolds in Jharkhand's Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in eight seats, demonstrating a strong showing despite fierce competition from local and national party rivals.
Among notable battles, Union Minister Arjun Munda trails behind Congress's Kalicharan Munda in the Khunti Lok Sabha seat by around 1.02 lakh votes. Meanwhile, Joba Manjhi of JMM is ahead by 77,599 votes over BJP's Geeta Kora in Singhbhum.
In total, 244 candidates are vying in a tightly contested election, with the process being conducted under heavy security. Voting recorded a 66.19 per cent turnout across four phases from May 13 to June 1.
