Parimal Suklabaidya Leads in Silchar with Significant Margin

Assam cabinet minister Parimal Suklabaidya is significantly ahead in the Silchar (SC) constituency, leading by over 1.94 lakh votes against Congress rival Surya Kanta Sarkar. Suklabaidya, a key figure in the Barak Valley, has had multiple terms in the state assembly and various ministerial roles.

Assam cabinet minister Parimal Suklabaidya is leading by a substantial margin in the prestigious Silchar (SC) constituency, outpacing his nearest Congress rival Surya Kanta Sarkar by more than 1.94 lakh votes, according to election officials.

Suklabaidya, who currently represents the Dholai assembly seat, stepped in for sitting BJP MP Rajdeep Roy after the constituency was designated as a Scheduled Caste seat.

Prominent in the Barak Valley, Suklabaidya has been elected to the state assembly four times and has served as a minister in both BJP governments under Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma.
