Jaikrishn Patel's Sweeping Victory in Bagidora Bypoll

Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) candidate Jaikrishn Patel secured a decisive win in Rajasthan's Bagidora assembly bypoll, surpassing BJP's Subhash Tambolia by 51,434 votes. This election increased BAP's representation in the state assembly to four MLAs. The bypoll occurred concurrently with the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) candidate Jaikrishn Patel clinched a significant victory in the Bagidora assembly bypoll in Rajasthan. Patel defeated BJP candidate Subhash Tambolia by an impressive margin of 51,434 votes.

Election Commission data revealed that Patel garnered 1,22,573 votes, while Tambolia received 71,139 votes. Notably, Congress extended its support to Patel in this electoral battle.

The Bagidora bypoll, part of the Banswara parliamentary constituency, coincided with the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in the state. This seat became vacant after the former Congress MLA Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya switched to BJP and contested from Banswara in the Lok Sabha elections. Malviya is currently trailing in that race, as per the Election Commission's website.

With Patel's victory, BAP now has four MLAs in the Rajasthan Assembly. In the 200-member assembly, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) holds 115 seats, Congress has 69, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has two, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal have one each, and there are eight independent legislators.
