Scandal-ridden MP Prajwal Revanna Loses Lok Sabha Seat

Suspended Hassan JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, implicated in multiple sexual abuse cases, lost the recent Lok Sabha elections to Congress's Shreyas M Patel by 42,549 votes. Despite his initial victory in 2019, explicit videos and subsequent legal issues overshadowed Revanna's political career.

Hassan JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who faces allegations of sexually abusing multiple women, was defeated in the Lok Sabha elections by Congress candidate Shreyas M Patel with a margin of 42,549 votes.

Patel received 6,72,988 votes, compared to Revanna's 6,30,339. Revanna, the grandson of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, was the sole JD(S) victor in the 2019 Karnataka Lok Sabha elections.

Prior to the April 26 elections, explicit videos allegedly showing Prajwal involved in sexual assaults went viral, leading to his departure to Germany post-polling. The Karnataka government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) that apprehended Prajwal on May 31 upon his return. His father, MLA H D Revanna, was also arrested related to a kidnapping case but was later granted bail. Prajwal's mother remains on the run in the same case.
