Chandrakant Raghunath Paatil, the figurehead of Gujarat's BJP, has charted an extraordinary political course, marked by unprecedented electoral victories and commendable leadership. On Sunday, he was appointed to the Narendra Modi government, underscoring his significant contributions to the party's success.

Paatil, claiming his fourth term as MP from Navsari, shattered records with a victory margin of 7.73 lakh votes in 2024, besting his previous 2019 margin of 6.89 lakh. His 2014 triumph was also notable, registering one of the highest margins nationwide.

Originating from Pimpry Akaraut village in Maharashtra, Paatil's journey began as a police constable before venturing into politics in 1989. His close association with Narendra Modi since 1995 has been pivotal. As BJP’s state chief since 2020, he also played significant roles in multiple parliamentary committees, notwithstanding the Remdesevir distribution controversy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite BJP’s aspiration of a clean sweep in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, it secured 25 out of 26 seats in Gujarat, reinforcing Paatil's influential position within the party.
