In a disturbing incident in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, a man, identified as Sanatan Ghosh and claimed to be a Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker, was shot dead, according to local police on Monday.

The deceased's mother asserted that her son was involved in a land-related dispute, which she believes led to his murder. Ghosh, in his 30s, was on a motorbike with two others when a car, apparently lying in wait, rammed into their vehicle on Sunday night.

After Ghosh fell from his motorbike, the car-borne assailants shot him at close range. Despite being rushed to a hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival. Authorities are actively seeking to apprehend the attackers, who fled the scene post-shooting.
