Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol lashed out at NCP leader Supriya Sule on Tuesday, reacting to her assertion that his new position in Prime Minister Modi's cabinet should prioritize Punekars over contractors. Mohol, recently named Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, dismissed Sule's remarks as rooted in elitism.
Sule, MP for Baramati, initially extended congratulations to Mohol while simultaneously expressing hope that his appointment would benefit local citizens rather than contractors. However, Mohol, a former Pune mayor, did not take kindly to the implication.
On the platform X, Mohol wrote, ''Tai (Sule), I can understand your displeasure. For someone like me, from an ordinary household, to achieve such a position is hard for you to accept.'' He further accused prominent contractors of having ties to top political figures in Maharashtra, hinting at Sule's connection to this circle.
