A staggering 99 percent of the newly inducted council of ministers in India are crorepatis, with their average assets totalling an astonishing Rs 107.94 crores, as per the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR).
Leading this affluent brigade is Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State in the Ministry of Rural Development and Communications, who has declared assets worth Rs 5705.47 crores. His portfolio notably includes Rs 5598.65 crores in movable assets alone.
Other notable ministers include Jyotiraditya M. Scindia with assets worth Rs 424.75 crores, H D Kumaraswamy at Rs 217.23 crores, and Ashwini Vaishnaw declaring assets of Rs 144.12 crores. The report highlights a significant wealth concentration among India's political elite, underscoring the financial clout within the government.
