106 SGPC Members Pledge Loyalty to Sukhbir Singh Badal Amid Internal Revolt

In a significant show of support, 106 Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) members have pledged loyalty to Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal. Despite the internal revolt by some senior party leaders, the SGPC members reposed faith in Badal's leadership, with discussions centered on upcoming SGPC elections.

In a critical show of unity, 106 members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) have pledged their allegiance to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal, the party confirmed on Tuesday.

During a meeting in the presence of SAD vice-president Daljit Singh Cheema, 93 members attended physically, while others explained their absence due to various reasons including travel and health issues.

Cheema further detailed that, despite recent internal revolts within SAD, all 106 members expressed complete faith in Badal's leadership. The majority-support underscores SAD's influence within the SGPC general house, which is crucial ahead of the upcoming elections.
